U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a press release stating they are complying with the recent Executive Order issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) making masks mandatory at all transportation hubs, which CBP has clarified includes all ports of entry.
The Presidential Order making masks mandatory for all transportation systems was issued by CDC earlier this week.
CBP has also clarified that truck drivers do not have to wear a mask while they are the sole occupant of the commercial vehicle but are required to do so when exiting their vehicle, entering a facility at a port of entry, or when at secondary inspection.
CTA has received questions from members regarding the treatment of team drivers under this Order, which is not specifically addressed. CTA is still seeking further clarification on this point and will release this information when made available.
